It happens all the time.
You sit down to meditate…
And within seconds, your mind is tangled in to-do lists, old conversations, or future what-ifs.
You shift your body, feel restless, wonder if this is working.
You open one eye, just for a second.
And then you think:
“I must be doing this wrong.”
But here’s the gentle truth:
There is no wrong way to return to yourself.
Meditation isn’t about silencing your thoughts.
It’s not about feeling perfectly serene or floating into the void.
It’s about remembering — again and again — that your presence is enough.
Each breath is a door.
Each moment is an invitation to begin again.
Stillness Doesn’t Mean Absence
Stillness is not the absence of thought or feeling.
It’s the space that holds all of it.
The inhale and the exhale.
The tension and the release.
The light and the shadow.
So if your mind wanders, welcome it back.
If your body aches, place a hand there with kindness.
If your spirit feels tired, let that be your starting point.
Begin Again, Gently
There is sacred power in simply sitting down.
There is magic in the pause — in choosing presence when the world pulls you everywhere else.
Let yourself be exactly as you are.
That’s where the healing begins.
You are not doing it wrong.
You are returning.
And that is everything.
Warmly,
Vanessa
Unfolding Stillness
